The essentials of essential oils

Who else loves to use essential oils? I have spent my life traveling the world and uncovering the most precious secrets that locals use to relieve their skin concerns— you would be amazed at the crucial role essential oils play!

Over 10 years ago, I started using essential oils because they are all-natural and offer a plethora of benefits. This passion for skincare has been passed on in my family for generations, from my grandmother to my mother and now to me.

Now, I want to pass that knowledge on to you to help you feel beautiful, confident and empowered in every facet of your life.

What are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are liquid compounds that are extracted from plants and seeds. They have many uses in aromatherapy and skincare.

For instance, jasmine essential oil is a natural oil that evens out your skin tone so you can look and feel your best as you take on every new adventure that life sends your way.

Benefits of Essential Oils in Skincare Products

Some of my favourite benefits of essential oils include:

Natural: There is no need for harsh chemicals with skincare when nature provides highly effective essential oils derived from plants and seeds.

Higher Quality: A little goes a long way to help you reach your skincare, hair care, or body care goals.

Multi-Purpose: Essential oils respond to your individual needs.

Best Essential Oils in Skincare Products

Here are the top essential oils I’ve found in my travels:

Rose Essential Oil: Rose essential oil is one of my favourite oils because it helps to reduce redness and even out my skin tone no matter how hard the weather has been on it when I travel between diverse climates.

Vanilla Essential Oil: It turns out that vanilla is good for more than just baking. Packed full of antioxidants, vanilla essential oil is also a great way to reduce wrinkles and reveal bright and radiant skin.

Tea Tree Essential Oil: I wouldn’t go a day without tea tree essential oil. Its antiseptic properties keep my skin clean and clear no matter what.

Lavender Essential Oil: When I need to relax and moisturize at the same time, I usually opt for lavender essential oil. It’s phenomenal for dry skin and has a wonderful scent that makes me feel like I’m at a spa.

Jojoba Essential Oil: If you’re looking for deep hydration, you won’t find better than jojoba essential oil. It nourishes your skin so you’re at maximum hydration all day. (Bonus: It doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue!)

Jasmine Essential Oil: Jasmine essential oil has a lovely smell, which can release serotonin, a hormone that aids in increasing happiness. Topically, jasmine essential oil is an anti-inflammatory agent, which helps in treating dry and dehydrated skin.

Tamanu Essential Oil: Like jojoba oil, Tamanu essential oil is another hydrating oil that doesn’t leave behind any residue. It moisturizes your skin, heals your scalp, and strengthens your nails, helping you to feel confident.

Geranium Essential Oil: Geranium essential oil is a staple in treating acne and reducing redness on the go, especially during the dry season.

Chamomile Essential Oil: When I found chamomile essential oil, I realized how under-used it is for hair care. It helps you lighten your hair, add shine, and even repair your scalp.
